A particularly rare format was chosen: the Maravilla No.3 with a length of 155 mm and a ring size of 55. This impressive cigar of the traditional brand Romeo y Julieta is packed in shiny boxes in red and gold, the typical colours of the Chinese New Year. According to the Chinese calendar, 2020 is the year of the metal rat. This is why one of them can be found on the lid of the box as a gold-metal inlay. Likewise at the foot of the cigar a second ring is attached, which the metal rat and the date 2020 is. Since the number 8 has a special meaning in China as a lucky number, each box contains eight pieces of these wonderful cigars. The shape of the box is reminiscent of Asian temples. The mixture of Romeo y Julieta Maravilla 8 is medium-strong, typical of the brand. Due to the large format, the rich and well-balanced aromas are particularly effective. The extraordinary Vitola Maravilla No.3 was produced in 2012 as the “Montecristo 520” of the Edición Limitada 2012. The world premiere of the Romeo y Julieta Maravilla 8 naturally took place in Asia, in the renowned Kerry Hotel at the Kowloon Harbour District in Hong Kong. China is a rapidly growing market for Habanos and is already second only to Spain. The interest in Habanos is enormous. Worldwide Chinese aficionados are looking for Habanos. The cigars are rolled from carefully selected top tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo cultivation region in Pinar del Rio. The cigars are produced “totalmente a mano” – as a completely hand-made long filler. Only in Cuba are all cigars still produced exclusively in this traditional way.
